Welcome! Thank you so much for joining us at Club Pay It Forward. Let's see how many have touched us with works we could not do for ourselves and then how we Pay It Forward. You do not have to stop at just three, that is just the goal to reach for. If everyone could do this the whole world could be such a more wonderful place.

Let's all put our giving hearts to the test -- will you Pay It Forward?

The world can seem like an unfriendly, threatening place, yet we all want safety, health, and happiness for ourselves and our loved ones. How can one ordinary person -- you or me -- make a positive difference in this world? One way is the practice "paying it forward." While the steps might be simple, the outcome could change the world.

All of us know someone who needs something. Maybe it is someone poor who needs to be fed, or maybe it's someone who has done something bad to you, and need forgiveness. I saw this movie on tv, that touched my heart, and spurred me to start this network. Let's make the world a better place, by each doing something good for 3 people, and convincing them to each return a favour for 3 others. 3 will help 9 - will help 27 - will help 81 - will help 243 - will help 729 - will help 2187 and so on, and so on. Of course there will always be those of us who are caregivers by nature, and will help a lot more than 3, and will always find 3 more to help. Most important is that we join this network, and record our experiences here, in order to keep ourselves and each other motivated to carry on, as we will no doubt be met by occasional negativity.

On this Network we will find Blog space, where we can post our experiences, Forums where we can discuss, and Group space where we can gather in likeminded groups.

Have fun in lending a helping hand.

Warnings:

Most nice things done for strangers will be one-time efforts, so use your head and don't give out your name or phone number; if someone seems to expect you to provide ongoing help but you don't want to go that far, smile and tell the person that you prefer to remain anonymous.

It can feel risky to help strangers, but trust your own good intentions and don't be afraid to go out on a limb if you believe your actions can help the person.

Some people will not act grateful, but the benefits may still come around when you are not there to see it. Let your beneficial action be enough in itself and don't expect profuse thanks, or even any thanks at all.

Do take care of yourself. If you have excess then share with those in need, but don't give away your last buck. The stronger you are the more good you can do for others.

Just a ride...

My husband was in the hospital, just after open heart surgery... still in ICU.  I walked into the waiting room and a man was there, probably late 30's to mid 40's... these days it is difficult for me to tell.  Anyway, he started talking and telling me about his past...Read More

Not alone on road of life

I was travelling along Inkster Boulevard near McGregor Street recently when a motorist pulled up beside me, honking his horn and pointing to my rear tire. It was wobbly and needed immediate attention.
